The biggest change for
Subbuteo comes out in 1960: plastic players (in three dimensions and
scale 00) placed on hemispherical bases with a flat bottom. In addition,
in the hollow base was put a washer metal to ensure greater stability to
the player.
In the first serie, players were placed on the base with a plastic
cross-bar: the Heavyweight.
All players were handpainted and so assembled.
In 1968, Adolph Weddinghtons buys the patent of Subbuteo and starts the
industrialized production.
In 1971-72 there were 81 teams available. In 1973-74 were 165. In 1978,
were 322. |
